Earth Mama Love: Ways to protect, restore & care for.

~ EAT MORE PLANT BASED MEALS ~

One of the biggest causes of environmental pollution is the transportation and farming of animal products. Its hard for most people to admit there is an over consumption of products among humans today especially with the widespread belief that we need to be eating meat every day for every single meal. There is nothing wrong with enjoying meat if that's what feels right for you but if the habit of over consumption is destroying the planet and our health then it really needs to be looked at in a more balanced way.

It's too extreme for many people to completely cut out meat from their diets and no one should be expected to do this unless it feels right for you. Just by cutting down to 3 - 5 times a week could make a huge difference not only to physical health but eating meat would become more of a meal to be appreciative & grateful for rather than it coming from a sense of entitlement. Many people in the world today including elite athletes are functioning in a healthy way consuming plant based diets. If it's done appropriately your physical and emotional health will improve, there will be an increase in your energy force and you'll be inspiring others to care for the environment.

~ BE A BAMBOO BABE ~

Bamboo is the worlds fastest growing plant. It's a renewable, sustainable natural resource that can be used in clothing, skin care and everyday household and personal hygiene products. Bamboo captures more carbon dioxide and releases 35% more oxygen into the atmosphere than the average hardwood tree. To cultivate bamboo the use of chemicals and pesticides is not needed. It is naturally antibacterial with an antimicrobial bio-agent found in the fibres called 'bamboo kun'.

There are many products we use daily that are generating mind-blowing amounts of toxic waste being dumped into landfills that is totally unnecessary. Thankfully there are many products now that can be found online, in major supermarkets and health food stores that are made with eco-friendly bamboo such as toothbrushes, toilet paper, make-up pads, disinfectant wipes, cleaning cloths etc.

For all earth mama sisters! If moon cups aren't for you (especially for those with candida) then a great alternative option is bamboo pads. They are just as good as any other product on the market and safe for the environment being compostable and biodegradable. Visit www.oobamboo.com.au

~ CHOOSE ORGANIC & GRASS FED ~

Many of us already know about organic products being chemical & pesticide free and how important this is to our environment, health & microbiome. What most of us might not be aware of is a farming process called tilling. For decades farmers have been using tractors that dig and turn up the earth as a way of growing their crops. This tilling process is destroying the earth, producing unhealthy soil and is actually one of the main reasons for climate change. It increases carbon emissions and leaves the earth unable to regenerate itself.

The biggest products being sold that are farmed using the tilling process are soy, corn & meat. The good news is farmers have discovered new ways to grow their crops that allows the earth to regenerate itself . It's possible for crops to be grown using untilled farming methods whilst maintaining pesticide free, nutrient dense healthy soil. Animals are allowed to roam about on grass pastures in harmony where they are feeding from the earth and giving to the earth at the same time.

Wherever it's available and affordable for your budget if you eat meat & dairy choose organic, grass fed, free range produce. If you are on a plant based diet choose nut milk, hemp milk, oat milk, and organic local produce. If we don't wake up and see this as a matter of importance soon then according to a recent documentary 'Kiss the Ground' it's predicted only 60 crop seasons are left before the earth dries up.

~ PLANT A TREE ~

The removal of trees without sufficient reforestation has adverse impacts on atmospheric carbon dioxide (climate change), damages habitat for wildlife and affects the health of all beings living on earth. Trees and plants are being burned, degraded and logged at astonishing rates. 80,000 acres of forests disappear from the earth every day from unsustainable logging, clear cutting for agriculture, bush fires and degradation due to climate change. Every 1.2 seconds man destroys an area of forest the size of a football field.

After oceans, forests are the world’s largest storehouses of carbon. They provide ecosystem services that are critical to wildlife and human welfare . These include:

~ Absorbing harmful greenhouse gasses that produce climate change.

~ Providing clean water for drinking, bathing, and other household needs

~ Protecting watersheds, reducing the amount of erosion and chemicals that reach waterways

~ Providing food and medicine

~ Serving as a buffer in natural disasters like flood and rainfalls

~ Providing habitat to more than half of the world’s land-based species

If you don't have time to plant a tree yourself it can be done on your behalf by making a donation to onetreeplanted.org or purchasing an item from MaEarthTemple shop.
